Maria is a Certified Iyengar Yoga Instructor
She is dedicated to teaching yoga in the Iyengar tradition. Her yoga background includes:
- Certified Iyengar Yoga Instructor
- Intense yoga studies with the Iyengar family in Pune, India,
- 5 years of continuing apprenticeship with top San Francisco Bay Area instructors, Janet MacLeod and Kathy Alef,
- Yoga Instructor Certificate of Completion from the Advanced Studies/Teacher Training program at the Iyengar Yoga Institute of San Francisco (Oldest Iyengar Yoga teacher training program in the US. Two year, state-approved, 500 hour program. Preparation for National Iyengar Certification.),
- And, a passionate and dedicated personal practice of yoga since 1985.
Maria holds degrees in Physical Education and Modern Expressive Dance (Expresión Corporal) from institutions in her native Argentina. She has over eight years of teaching experience in this field including kids, youth, and adult classes.
When Maria is not teaching or practicing yoga, she is taking classes and workshops to continue improving her skills. With the rest of her time, she is usually talking about yoga.

What is "tvamevayoga"?
"Tvam eva" is a sanskrit expression for "you are". Tvam eva is common in some yoga chants. So, altogether, that makes "you are yoga". And, that's how I see it: you are yoga and yoga is you. You make it part of yourself and that gives it light and meaning. I hope you will join me and begin or continue your journey to "become" yoga... - Maria
